Jihan Wu, the cofounder and CEO of digital asset mining giant, Bitmain just unveiled two new versions of the firm’s Antminer 17 series. Speaking at the World Digital Mining Summit, Wu announced the Antminer S17+ and T17+. Both additions to the famed Antminer product line promise hashing and power efficiency enhancements.Wu, himself, guaranteed a hashing ability of 73 TH/s and a power efficiency of 40 J/TH + 10%for the S17. While the T17+ model, on the other hand, will hash away at 64 TH/s, while doing a very decent 50 J/TH + 10% in power saving. Wu declared the mining units would be frontrunners in mining innovation.

“They each represent the future of its rig design and power efficiency.” – Johan Wu

Bitmain’s new digital asset mining engines both sport an innovative dual-tube heat dissipation technology. The technology also goes a long way toward reducing fan noise. The miners also feature a High Temperature and Fain Abnormal protection mechanism, which makes them more stable, and safer for users to operate.Wu went on to state his firm’s commitment to research and development, in order to improve their products’ mining capabilities. According to Wu, the mining units have been available to order since October 11th and will begin shipping on December 1st.Bitmain’s dominance over the digital assets mining sector has been slipping of late. Internal disputes, a more competitive environment and volatile digital currency prices have caused Bitmain to slip from first place. The release of the new Antminer 17 line, along with a new mining facility in Texas, USA – the company hopes – may hand Bitmain the momentum it needs to regain pole position.
